First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Portland, Oregon. Operating within a high-acuity 36-bed critical care unit at Providence Portland Medical Center (a 418-bed acute care teaching facility), this position features a desirable 3x12 daytime schedule (07:00 AM - 19:00 PM / 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $2,220.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,500.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr (36 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12-Hours (07:00 AM - 19:00 PM / 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). Block scheduling is not offered.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation.
  • On-Call Requirements:NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! Enjoy your evenings completely free from standby duty.
  • Clinical Scope & High-Acuity Care: 36-bed ICU averaging 24 patients daily with 1:1 to 1:2 nurse-to-patient staffing ratios. Unit manages complex multi-organ system failure, ARDS with prone positioning protocols, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), VV ECMO, VAD/IABP, therapeutic hypothermia, post-cardiac arrest, and unstable post-cardiac catheterization interventions.
  • Core Competencies: Advanced ventilator management, arterial lines, central/PICC lines, continuous neuromuscular blockade/paralytics, and aggressive titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips.
  • Floating Scope: Regional floating across Providence sister facilities in the region (Milwaukie, Newberg, Hood River, Willamette Falls, St. Vincent, and Seaside). Floating to Seaside includes a +$5/hr pay incentive, IRS mileage reimbursement, and hotel lodging for consecutive shifts.
  • EMR & Dress Code: Epic EMR (experience required); any color scrubs permitted; free on-site parking.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical adult ICU RN experience in an acute care setting (strong candidates with 1+ years screened for review). First-time travelers accepted!
  • Licensure: Active Oregon RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly required in hand at submittal.
  • Certifications Required: * American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • CCRN is preferred.
  • Vehicle Requirement: Candidate must possess a reliable vehicle for potential floating between regional facilities.
  • Rehire Policy: Former Providence staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation.

Location Details: Assignment is based at Providence Portland Medical Center, 4805 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97213. Transportation & Floating Policy: Clinician must have a personal vehicle. Floating across Providence Oregon facilities (Milwaukie, Newberg, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Saint Vincent, Seaside) is required as needed. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active OR single-state or Compact RN license must be attached at submission. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted upfront (Aya auto-approves <7 days). Must commit to working 3 of 5 major winter holidays if scheduled. System policy strictly excludes candidates with background or Nursys hits.
