RN - ICU
Job Details:
• General ICU position caring for patients with sepsis, post cardiac arrest, IABP, respiratory failure, severe DKA, multi-system organ failure, CIWA, GI bleed, renal failure, and stroke
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• 13-bed ICU unit with self-scheduling
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Float required to IMCU/Tele as needed
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• Charting system experience required
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs, suctioning (ETT, NT), and isolation precautions/PPE
• Equipment used includes: Spacelabs telemetry monitors, Lifepack defibrillators and transport monitors, Bellmont for MTP, IABP, PA catheters, and ventilators
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

The ICU provides comprehensive critical care services supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit is equipped with advanced monitoring and life-support technology to support the care of critically ill adult and geriatric patients.
