ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience or critical care experience
• Active RN license; compact nursing license accepted
• BLS-AHA certification required
• ACLS-AHA certification required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• One reference from your entire work history
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to assignment communication procedures

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond quickly to evolving clinical needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
• Float to inpatient units at skill level and below, including ICU, Intermediate, and General Care areas
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios and uphold strong clinical standards in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Adapt to assignment needs, including working with a rotating communication schedule before shifts
• Support patient safety, timely interventions, and compassionate bedside care
