Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of acute-care ICU nursing experience
• Strong Neuro ICU skills and experience caring for critically ill neurologic patients
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and maintain a 36-hour weekly schedule
• Current required clinical credentials and documentation to meet assignment standards
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a Neuro ICU environment
• Perform focused neurologic assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
• Monitor vital signs, neurologic status, hemodynamics, and responses to treatment
• Administer medications and therapies safely in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Respond effectively to changes in patient acuity and emergent clinical situations
• Educate patients and families while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support a safe, compassionate, and evidence-based critical care environment
