Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role involves providing high-level patient care in a 33-bed critical care environment, with responsibilities including monitoring, interpreting EKGs, and managing oversees patients with complex conditions. The position requires adaptability to floating between units and maintaining a team-oriented attitude.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, required.
  • Education/Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience in a similar-sized facility with comparable acuity.
  • Additional Qualifications: Must have valid licenses to submit, and at least 3 years of ICU experience.
  • Schedule Details: Night shifts; floating to telemetry floors as needed, with a ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 depending on patient acuity, and 1:5 when floating to telemetry.
  • Unit Notes: No 48-hour shift rotations, completion of Healthstream modules prior to orientation, and no first-time travelers accepted. Candidates must have managerial references, and no references from charge nurses are accepted.
  • Responsibilities: Monitoring and interpreting EKGs, caring for patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, post-codes, open-heart recovery, carotids, vascular surgeries, GI bleeds, OD, CVA with TPA, IABP, Impella, and SLED. No trauma or hemorrhagic stroke cases.
  • Orientation: Floor-specific during Day 1 orientation with a focus on common patient diagnoses and unit procedures.
  • Additional Notes: Travelers should be team players, approachable, friendly, and willing to float first to tele floors. Attendance policy includes warnings for tardiness and no-call/no-shows, with termination after multiple violations.
  • Charting System: EPIC.
  • Holidays & Weekends: Four shifts every four weeks; holiday staffing as needed.
  • Scrub Color: Black.
  • EMR Responsibilities: Nurses are responsible for all EKG monitoring and interpretation.
  • HCF Level: Trauma Level 3.
  • Care Setting: Acute care.
  • Special Instructions: During orientation; no monitor techs; nurses handle all EKG duties.
