Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for day shift (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Holiday rotation required every other holiday
• No on-call responsibilities
• Schedule runs in 6-week increments
• Minimum 4 years of experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Care for neurological ICU patients including ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections
• Also care for non-neuro ICU patients including medical respiratory and general medical ICU overflow
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 or 1:3 for mixed acuity status
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: ventilator management, trachs, arterial lines, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draws
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Preferred skills: CVVH/CRRT and EVD experience
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs
• Floating may be required to ED Holding (1:3-4), other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical surgical unit (1:3), sitter, or PACU Surge (1:3-4)
• Scrub color: any solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy

This facility is a large 933-bed hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The facility holds Magnet designation, reflecting its commitment to nursing excellence and evidence-based practice. The ICU unit consists of 27 beds with robust support staff including CNAs, Charge RNs, Critical Care NPs, Intensivists available 24/7, Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapists, and Phlebotomy services, all fostering a strong team-oriented culture.
