Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Minocqua, Wisconsin.

MUST have recent 2 years of ICU experience within the past 2 years going back from today’s date in order to qualify for this position. See below for additional job notes.

 

Department: MS/ICU/IMC RN.

*Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, PALS*.

**Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility.

- # Beds: 20.

- Nurse:Patient Ratios: MS 1:5 days,1:6 noc.

IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, Peds 1:3-4.

- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Elderly population in surrounding area.

Cardiac: CHF exacerbation, Afib RVR, bradycardia, syncope.

Pulmonary: pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure post op.

Neuro: Falls, TIA, Storke, Detox.

Skin: cellulitis, paraplegic with decubitous ulcers.

GI: GI bleed, SBO, lysis of adhesion, Pancreatitis, Cholecystitis, intestinal resections, perforated appy, diarrhea.

GU: UTI, hematuria, TURP, hydronephrosis, kidney stones, AKI, ileal conduit, nephrostomy tubes.

Ortho: hip fracture, humerous fracture, shoulder, knee or hip surgery.

Sepsis.

Outpatient: transfusions or long term antibiotic infustions.

Pediatric: stable patients - respiratory illness for IV meds, postop appy, dehydration with IV hydration.

- Experience or 'Must have' skills: ICU experience with Pediatric experience is our preference.

- Are RN's required to titrate drips: Yes.

- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, Norepi,

- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No, Tele is monitored in Weston by tele techs, but we do need to know how to read rhythm strips incase something happens here and we need to report it to the provider.

Weston documents measurements.

Tele box is GE - ApexPro CH.

- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge Nurses take an assignment.

House Supervisor does not as they round throughout the building.

- Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: Yes.

CNAs are 1- 8-10 days and nights if possible, sometimes more with the help of the RNs.

- RT/Equipment: CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, Hamilton ventilators.

We do have RTs 24/7 typically.

- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts 0700 - 1930, 1900 - 0730.

CAN 0600 - 1830, 1800 - 0630.

We do block scheduling if possible.

- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.

- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.

- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: Yes, if low census will be put on call in a rotation.

Rare cancellation.

- Floating Requirements?: Yes.

Inhouse to ED, UC, PACU as needed.

Interfacility: Park Falls and Weston.

- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: Navy scrubs for RNs, Ceil Blue scrubs for CNAs.

- Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 1 day for Computer based training videos and hospital orientation, 1-2 days orientation on shift.

All clinicians must clock in and out at facility.
