Talent4Health is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Renton, Washington.

ICU Travel RN – Unit Highlights

Important Submission Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • Start Date:10/26/2026 (Firm)
  • Contract Length:16 weeks minimum
  • Epic experience within the past 2 years is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience at the time of submission.
  • Candidates with license hits involving medication diversion or patient endangerment will NOT be accepted. If discovered after submission, the contract will be canceled immediately.

Time Off (RTO)

  • All RTO must be submitted before contract start.
  • No additional RTO can be guaranteed from 12/24–12/30.
  • Recruiters must discuss this with candidates during pre-screening.

Unit Information

  • 30-bed Medical ICU
  • All private rooms
  • 2 negative airflow rooms

Patient Ratios

  • Typically 2:1

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

Patient Population

  • Medical ICU
  • Sepsis
  • Respiratory Failure
  • Stroke (TPA/Thrombectomy recovery)
  • Targeted Temperature Management
  • Post-cardiac catheterization patients (received directly from Cath Lab)

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience
  • Recent Epic experience
  • Ability to independently titrate vasoactive and sedation drips
  • Ability to interpret telemetry strips

Common Drips

  • Norepinephrine
  • Vasopressin
  • Inhaled Epoprostenol
  • Pressors
  • Sedation infusions
  • Other ICU vasoactive medications

Respiratory Equipment

  • Mechanical ventilators
  • BiPAP
  • High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

Staffing

  • Charge RN does not take patient assignments
  • House Supervisor available 24/7
  • No nurse aides
  • Unit typically staffs with 2 resource RNs in addition to the Charge RN

Telemetry

  • Telemetry monitoring on unit
  • No Monitor Techs
  • RNs are expected to read telemetry strips

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts (7:00–7:30)
  • Scheduling completed at the unit level
  • Leadership works with travelers to accommodate scheduling when possible
  • Night shift–friendly management

Weekend Requirement

  • Every other weekend
  • May volunteer for additional weekends if desired

Holiday Requirement

  • Travelers are expected to work holidays if the unit has staffing needs.

Call/Standby

  • If low census occurs, travelers are expected to be available for standby.

Floating

  • Required to float to Med/Surg units as needed and take a full patient assignment.

Dress Code

  • Royal Blue scrubs

Orientation

  • EPIC training
  • Hospital orientation
  • Unit orientation:
    • 2 × 12-hour day shifts
    • 1 × 12-hour shift (day or night depending on assigned schedule)
