Job Requirements

• Active New York RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred
• High-acuity stroke, neuro ICU, and neurosurgery experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for a mixed-acuity neurosurgical patient population
• Monitor and assess patients requiring close neurological and hemodynamic observation
• Perform frequent neuro checks and manage complex patient conditions in a high-acuity setting
• Support care for patients with EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, arterial lines, and other advanced monitoring needs
• Assist in the care of patients recovering from brain tumor procedures, spinal malformations, aneurysm coiling/clipping, DBS insertion, VP shunts, and seizure-related conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, neurologists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective outcomes
• Respond to changing patient needs in a fast-paced specialty care environment
