• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,110 - $2,220
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days
• Schedule Pattern: Rotating day/evening/night coverage with weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge coverage as needed
• Contract Duration: 17 weeks
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Setting: Mixed-acuity neurosurgical ICU stepdown unit
• Location: Rochester, NY

Job Requirements

• Active New York RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of registered nurse experience required
• Stepdown or PCU experience required
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience supporting complex neuro patients strongly valued

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for patients in a mixed-acuity neurosurgical ICU stepdown environment
• Monitor and assess patients requiring close neurological and hemodynamic observation
• Perform frequent neuro checks and support advanced care plans for stroke and neurosurgery patients
• Manage telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition quickly and appropriately
• Care for patients with devices and therapies such as EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, arterial lines, and VP shunts
• Support treatment plans involving seizure management, carotid endarterectomy recovery, aneurysm care, and other complex neuro procedures
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining strong clinical judgment and teamwork
