Reliable Nurse Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Grand Island, Nebraska.
* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Department: Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS* we do ICPs and occasional balloon pumps. We don't necessarily have to assign those to a traveler - # of Beds: 16 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2 with occasional 1:1- TPA, balloon pump, recovery of crani - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, DKA Gaymar Hypothermia, Arrow Balloon Pump, Camino Neuro monitoring, CRRT, Impella, EVDs, Lumbar drains - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret
Reliable Nurse Staffing . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
