ICU Travel Nursing Job Details

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maine
• At least 3 years of recent ICU or critical-care nursing experience
• Recent acute-care hospital experience
• Experience caring for sedated and intubated patients and managing vasoactive medication infusions
• Ability to float among multiple critical-care and intermediate-care units
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to accept changing assignments, including multiple unit assignments during a shift when needed
• Ability to comply with professional dress and workplace safety standards

ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in intensive care unit settings
• Float to medical, surgical/trauma, neuro, cardiac, and cardiothoracic intensive care units based on experience and staffing needs
• Provide care for basic ICU patients, including those who are sedated, intubated, or receiving pressor support
• Float to intermediate-care units and manage patient assignments appropriate to that level of care
• Monitor patient conditions, identify changes in status, and promptly escalate concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following evidence-based nursing practices
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and fellow nurses to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
• Adapt quickly to changing unit environments while maintaining a consistent focus on patient safety and outstanding care
