ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Level III Trauma Center. This position involves providing high-quality care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), treating a diverse adult patient population with various critical conditions.

Unit Description

• Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Bed Count: 20 beds
• Patient Conditions Treated: Substance Abuse/Overdose, Severe Psychiatric Conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
• Staff Presence: Attendings and Residents available 24 hours a day

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Utilize telemetry skills to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to Medical/Surgical Units as required, caring for 4 to 5 patients when floated.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU experience required.
• Telemetry competency is required.
• Active RN License in Massachusetts.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Working Conditions

• Flexible scheduling with rotating shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) for day rotators.
• RN to patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity cases; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas.
• Position may require occasional floating to other medical/surgical units.
