Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview:

Join our dedicated team as an ICU Registered Nurse, providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in a dynamic medical and surgical intensive care setting. This role requires adaptability and a strong foundation in intensive care nursing, including experience with complex patient conditions.

Unit Description:

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 20-bed facility designed to accommodate a diverse adult patient population, addressing a wide range of medical conditions, including but not limited to:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleed
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive patient care in the ICU environment.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret telemetry strips.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Float to medical/surgical units as needed, managing a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity cases.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU or adult ICU experience.
• Telemetry competency is required.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Work Schedule:

Full-time opportunities available, with night shifts and every other weekend. Rotating day positions may require flexibility for varying shift start times.

Additional Information:

Free on-site parking is available for all staff members. The ICU is staffed with attendings and residents 24 hours a day, supporting a collaborative care environment.
