ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at a Level II Trauma Center. This is an exciting opportunity for nursing professionals looking to make a significant impact in critical care.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Night Shift: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• 36 or 48-hour shifts available based on traveler preference
• Block scheduling is available
• Every other weekend is required

Patient Care

• Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required; 1 year may be considered if from a high-acuity or busy ICU
• Ventilator management experience is required
• First-time travelers with ICU experience are accepted

Certifications

• Current BLS certification is required
• ACLS certification is preferred

Licensure

• Active Alabama or compact RN license at the time of submission
• No pending issues; must be in good standing

Additional Information

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Epic (preferred)
• Compliance documentation is due one week prior to the start date
• Orientation occurs every other Monday
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with proof
• Scrubs: All navy or navy bottoms with a white top

Policies

• Requested time off: 3–5 days preferred; 7 days maximum per 13 weeks
• Local radius: 75 miles (local candidates are not eligible)
• Former permanent staff are ineligible to reapply for a period of 10 years
