Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients in a fast-paced critical care environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, exceptional assessment skills, and the ability to respond effectively during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and care for critically ill patients requiring intensive nursing interventions.
Utilize advanced nursing skills to manage patients with complex medical conditions.
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and hemodynamic status.
Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions when appropriate.
Maintain compliance with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU experience preferred.
Experience caring for high-acuity adult patients.
Strong knowledge of critical care medications, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response protocols.
Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
