Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in the healthcare organization. This role involves providing specialized critical care services to adult and geriatric patients across multiple UCSF campuses. The position is part of a float pool, requiring flexibility to work in various ICUs, emergency departments, and post-anesthesia care units, with rotating shifts and operational needs.
Job Details:
Location: The position involves floating to all UCSF sites, including Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion, with responsibilities across different critical care units.
Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule includes shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, minimum of 2 years recent adult medical/surgical critical care ICU experience, current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and ability to float across multiple departments.
Preferred Qualifications: 2.5 years ICU experience, recent float pool, PACU or emergency room experience, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
Travel Experience: Required.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
Additional Information:
Must have completed references prior to submission.
Ability to float to various ICU, ED, and PACU units, including trauma and transplant units.
The assignment duration is from 10/06/2026 to 03/30/2027.
RTO (Request for Time Off) must be disclosed at the time of submittal and approved by the manager at the time of offer.
New employees are expected to complete orientation modules prior to start date.
Flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine plus booster are required, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
