Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing high-quality care for patients with complex neurological conditions. This position requires a strong foundation in critical care nursing, particularly in the neuroscience field, to effectively manage patients with neurological injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological diagnoses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and initiate appropriate interventions as necessary.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.

Shift Details

This position is available with the following scheduling options:

• 36 hours or 48 hours per week
• Straight nights or rotating day/night shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of strong critical care nursing experience required.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• Preference for candidates with 2+ years of neuro critical care nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Valid state nursing license or certification verification is necessary.

Unit Description

The Neuroscience ICU cares for critically ill patients with a variety of neurological diagnoses, including but not limited to neurotrauma, status epilepticus, stroke, and spinal cord injuries. The unit features a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with a total bed count of 24 and an average census of 22.
