ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

A challenging and rewarding position is available for an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) focusing on patient care in a combination ICU and PCU unit. This role requires versatility and strong clinical skills to manage critically ill patients and those in recovery.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing services.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:3 in PCU settings.
• Titrate drips including vasoactive and sedative medications according to established protocols.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists and hospitalists, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Utilize telemonitoring equipment and interpret telemetry strips as required.
• Assist with and supervise patient care activities completed by CNAs.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with thermoguard/Zoll cooling protocols for targeted temperature management (TTM).
• Proficient in using EPIC electronic health record system.
• Previous travel nursing experience is required.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Weekend requirements, typically every other weekend or as needed based on unit demands.
• Some holiday coverage may be required.
• Flexibility in scheduling is preferred, including possibilities for block scheduling.
