Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Los Angeles, California.

We are seeking an experienced ICU Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-acuity nursing care across multiple hospital units. The RN will primarily support the ICU but must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg, Telemetry, PCU, Overflow, and PACU units as needed based on patient volume and staffing needs.
Assignment Details
- Position: ICU Float Pool RN
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Floating: Required
- Pending License: Not accepted
- RTO: Maximum 7 days
- Initial RTO Restriction: No RTO during the first 2 weeks
- Holidays: Must work 3 of 5 required holidays
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Active California RN License at the time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- PA Line / Swan-Ganz experience – Required
- Previous experience in a large hospital setting
- First-time travelers must have experience at a 400+ bed facility
- Flu vaccination required; no declinations accepted
- Must be willing to float across multiple units within scope
Clinical Requirements
The ideal candidate should have strong critical-care experience, including:
- PA Line / Swan-Ganz monitoring and management
- ICU-level patient care
- Cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Experience caring for high-acuity patients
- Ability to adapt to different patient populations and acuity levels
Floating Requirements
This is a dedicated ICU Float Pool position. The RN must be willing to float, as needed, to:
- ICU
- Med/Surg
- Telemetry
- PCU
- Overflow
- PACU
Orientation Requirement
An EKG examination will be administered on the first day of orientation. The clinician must successfully pass the examination to proceed with the assignment.
Highly experienced ICU RN with strong PA Line/Swan-Ganz and advanced critical-care experience, preferably from a large hospital environment. The candidate must be clinically adaptable, confident with EKG interpretation, and comfortable floating across ICU, Telemetry, PCU, Med/Surg, Overflow, and PACU units.
