Overview
Seeking an experienced ICU Stepdown RN to care for high-acuity neurosurgical and stroke patients in a specialized Neuro PCU/Stepdown unit. This role involves advanced neurological and hemodynamic monitoring in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide care for patients with brain tumors, stroke, spinal disorders, and epilepsy
Perform Q1 neuro assessments and continuous telemetry monitoring
Manage patients with EVDs, lumbar/subdural drains, arterial lines, Cardene drips, and 3% NS
Care for post-op patients following aneurysm coiling/clipping, carotid endarterectomy, DBS insertion, and VP shunt placement
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements
Active New York RN License
Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience (Required)
High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
Telemetry experience required
Strong neurological assessment and critical care skills
Certifications
BLS (Required)
NIHSS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
