ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our medical team within a Level III Trauma Center. This position involves working in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) that provides critical care for a diverse adult patient population.

Unit Overview

The MICU cares for patients with a range of complex medical conditions, including:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleeds
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

Our team includes attendings and residents who are available in the ICU 24 hours a day to provide support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and ensure competency in reading tele strips.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing a patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:5 depending on acuity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in a Medical/Surgical ICU.
• MUST be able to read tele strips competently.
• Active RN license in Massachusetts.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and every other weekend. Day rotators may work varying shifts between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Night shifts do not rotate.

Additional Information

On-site parking is available for all staff members. The position may require floating to Med/Surg units when necessary.
