This position entails working independently to support infection prevention and control protocols within an acute care hospital environment. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to the safety of patients and staff through effective infection prevention strategies.

Position: Infection Control Specialist
Location: Orange, California
Schedule: Days, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
Start Date: 09/15/2026
Required Qualifications: Certification as a Certification in Infection Control (CIC), current California state license, minimum 1 year of infection prevention experience, acute care hospital experience highly preferred, Epic electronic charting system experience preferred, flexible to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Epic charting system is highly preferred.
Additional Information: - No weekend or holiday requirements, with an option to work 3 of the 5 specified holidays. - The role does not require an RN license and is open to candidates with degrees in Public Health, Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or related fields. - Must have current California license and be prepared to disclose license and background check results upfront. - Only local candidates within a 50-mile radius are considered. - The assignment involves working with infection prevention protocols, antibiotic stewardship, disease surveillance, and compliance with clinical standards such as TJC. - Candidates must be able to provide two recent references covering a minimum of six months each within the last three years. - La fire card within the last 30 days is required.
