We are seeking an experienced Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a Native community hospital in beautiful Sells, Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nursing professional who is passionate about patient safety, quality improvement, and infection prevention while serving a unique and culturally rich community.

 

Position Summary

The Infection Control RN is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating infection prevention and control practices throughout the hospital. This role works collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to reduce healthcare-associated infections, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct infection surveillance and data collection throughout the facility.
  • Monitor, investigate, and report healthcare-associated infections.
  • Develop and maintain infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Educate and train staff on infection control standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS, and facility regulations.
  • Assist with outbreak investigations and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare reports, audits, and presentations related to infection prevention metrics.
  • Support employee health and exposure management activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of Infection Control experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention practices, surveillance methodologies, and regulatory standards.
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred or strongly desired.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in rural, Tribal, or underserved healthcare settings is a plus.
