Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active nursing license Certifications: Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC), BLS Must-Have: Chemo certification is required to administer chemotherapy. Experience in outpatient oncology or infusion centers. Experience with IM and subcutaneous injection, as well as therapeutic phlebotomy. Description: The role involves providing care to oncology patients requiring chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Registered Nurses will work five days a week, Monday through Friday. Shifts may vary based on patient schedules. Start times are typically between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM. No holidays or weekends are required. The nurse will administer infusions for hematology and non-oncology patients. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of approximately 70 patients. The infusion clinic will feature two private rooms and 26 chairs. Interdisciplinary support includes services such as phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. The nurse will be responsible for recognizing and managing side effects of chemotherapy. Additional skills necessary include starting and maintaining IVs, patient education, and management of central lines. The clinic environment requires knowledge of safe handling and disposal of cytotoxic materials. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to strict safety protocols regarding patient care. The infusions will consist of 85% hematology/oncology and 15% non-oncology patients.
