Job Summary Infusion Nurse Outpatient Infusion Center, located in the region. This role involves providing specialized infusion procedures, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, blood product transfusions, and central line maintenance. The position emphasizes team collaboration within a supportive outpatient environment, with opportunities to enhance clinical skills in a fast-paced setting.
Job Details
Shift Time: Days, 9 hours per shift, with a schedule of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Active RN license in Oregon, BLS certification through the American Heart Association, minimum of 2 years of infusion experience, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration; experience in IV therapy with excellent skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification.
Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, biologics, antibiotics, blood products, and performing central line maintenance such as PICC line dressing changes and PAC flushes.
Equipment utilized includes electronic charting with EPIC BEACON, ICU medical Plum 360 IV pumps, CADD CIV pumps, Omnicell medication systems, Hoyer lifts, and sara steadya.
The unit features 33 chairs and 2 private rooms, with an expansion plan to add 4 more chairs.
Typical patient census ranges from 6-9 patients depending on acuity, with a nurse-to-patient ratio suited for outpatient care.
The environment involves team-based work in PODs alongside RN partners and CNA support.
Unit training involves 2-3 days with a preceptor, supported by continuous team mentorship.
Charting is completed within the EPIC system.
Occasional weekends and varied start times (potentially as late as 1800) may be required, with flex hours in the schedule.
