What You’ll Do:
- Administer chemotherapy and IV fluids via peripherally inserted central catheters.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, identify issues, and develop care plans.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about post-discharge care and treatment protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to modify care plans as needed.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and ensure quality standards are met.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to new staff members.
- Document patient care accurately and comprehensively.
- Assist in crisis situations, utilizing knowledge of medications, infection control, and safety precautions.
- Participate in continuous education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead and delegate care to team members, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- Minimum of one year of oncology or infusion experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to develop care plans, assess patient needs, and work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of medication protocols, infection prevention, and safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience with oncology infusion therapies.
- Certification in oncology nursing (OCN) within the first year of employment.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- At least one year of relevant clinical experience in infusion or oncology nursing.
Additional Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Willingness to obtain OCN certification within one year.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Ability to handle patient care in a professional, compassionate manner.
