Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Oncology experience required. License: RN-Registered Nurse for the state where care is provided. Certifications: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card. Must-Have: Prior outpatient Oncology Infusion Center experience preferred. Description: Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience. Demonstrates general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts, and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology. Possesses written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including those without medical backgrounds. Exhibits time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize patient care and assignments. Works independently as well as part of a team in an ever-changing environment. Communicates and engages team members, patients, and families in various stressful situations. Utilizes existing procedures and critical thinking to identify and solve routine or complex problems. Ensures the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI). Builds collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental objectives. Prioritizes assignments to meet standardized policies and deadlines. Daily patient census of approximately 55. Provides care for a range of patient diagnoses including oncology, rheumatology, allergy, gastrointestinal issues, pregnancy, and infectious disease. Involves specialized procedures such as infusions, injections, and management of ports and PICC lines. Utilizes a variety of equipment and technology relevant to patient care. Maintains knowledge of safety precaution policies and best practices regarding patient care and privacy.
