Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse

Job Summary

Join a dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at an acute care facility located in York, Maine. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-level critical care to patients requiring intensive monitoring and life support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for critically ill individuals. This involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
  • Monitor, assess, and interpret complex patient data, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic parameters.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, including titrating vasoactive drips and managing sedation.
  • Operate and troubleshoot specialized medical equipment such as ventilators, IV pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) machines.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, residents, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly and in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and care plans.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
  • Current Influenza Vaccination, as mandated by the State of Maine.

Licensing Requirements
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
