Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Provide direct care to critically ill patients with complex medical conditions
- Monitor and manage ventilators, drips, and other life-support systems
- Perform frequent assessments and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
- Provide emotional support and education to families during challenging times
Requirements of the Travel Nurse
- Active RN license (Texas or Compact State)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years' recent ICU experience in a hospital setting
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and ICU equipment
