Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care hospital ICU License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year current acute care hospital ICU experience - BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications Description: This is a travel RN position in the Intensive Care Unit. The unit consists of two pods with a total of 28 beds. Pod A has 12 beds and Pod B has 16 beds. Staffing levels on the unit depend on patient census and acuity. Typically, the patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2. This can vary to 1:1 or 1:3 based on acuity levels. Key equipment utilized includes Pyxis, Plum Pump IVs, bedside monitors, and more. EMR system is Meditech. Common procedures performed in the unit include neuro surgical cases, trauma care, cardiac arrest interventions, and care for vented patients. The ideal candidate will be flexible and have a positive, patient-centered approach. Staff members are experienced, with many having over 20 years in nursing. A recent expansion has improved capacity to care for ICU patients. The medical team is supportive and respectful, committed to teaching and collaboration. The average patient census on the unit typically ranges from 100-125.
