Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Active RN license - ACLS certification - BLS certification - ICU experience Description: The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 2:1. There are occasional shifts with a 1:1 or 3:1 ratio depending on acuity and staffing. A unit secretary is staffed during the day shift. An occasional nurse extern may work as a tech. The unit has ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000 equipment. Documentation is done using Meditech. There is a minimum weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts per schedule. Schedules are done in 4-week increments and allow for some self-scheduling. The manager may adjust shifts to balance the schedule. Contract labor is the first to float if staffing needs arise in other areas. Contracted staff may be expected to float to medical/surgical units. Patient experience requirements include providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and their family members. Advanced skills required include the insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions. The required dress code is navy scrubs, tops, and bottoms. Please attach unit-specific policies and guidelines. This unit has received outstanding department and team awards.
