Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Critical thinking, self-motivated Description: The ICU unit consists of 16 beds. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with occasional 3:1. Unit staffing includes nursing techs based on census needs. Types of equipment used include Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and Hemodynamic monitoring. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include 36 hours weekly. There is a floating policy in rotation with core staffing. Advanced skills needed include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions. The dress code requires scrubs of any color; denim, capris, or camo are not allowed. The unit promotes a flexibility with scheduling and fosters a teamwork environment. It features a mix of experienced and new staff from both day and night shifts. Awards include contributions to hospice patients and recognition for exceptional team performance.
