Description:
This is a travel RN position in the Intensive Care Unit.
The shift for this role is from 7 PM to 7 AM.
The unit consists of 12 beds and has a staff structure that includes charge nurses, RNs, CNAs, and sitters.
Night shift patient ratios are typically 1:2 to 1:3.
There may be instances where staff do not protect Med/Surg ratios.
Equipment in the unit includes monitors, CRRT, IV equipment, fluid warmers, and blanket coolers.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
Preferred skills include ventilator competency and IV gtt competency.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include dialysis line insertion, arterial line insertions, central line insertions, cardioversion, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertions.
Effective communication with staff and providers is prioritized.
Staff may be required to float to other units as needed.
The unit has received Honorable Mention for Unit of Distinction in 2021 and 2022.
It maintains low hospital-associated infection rates.
The staff has considerable tenure with low turnover.
There is flexibility with scheduling options.
