Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Neuro ICU License: Active NC or Compact License Required at Start Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience - Strong Neuro Critical Care Background Description: This position requires a registered nurse with a focus on Neuro ICU. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in neuro critical care. The nurse will work a 3x12-hour night shift. Ratios are typically 2:1, and may flex to 3:1 during high census. Daily census averages 11-12 patients. The unit manages a variety of stroke diagnoses and post-neurosurgery patients. Skills in ventilation, IV starts, and dysrhythmia management are essential. Experience with external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, and lumbar drains is required. Isolation precautions and PPE usage are part of the job responsibilities. Strong neuro experience is prerequisite and must be clearly documented. The position involves caring for ventilated patients and administering blood products. The candidate must be comfortable floating to other units as needed. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. No time off will be allowed in the first week following the start of the assignment. Travel pairs are permitted but must work on different units. Pending references at the time of submission are acceptable but must be provided at the start. Candidates must be open to floating and are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. All testing prior to the start of the assignment must be completed within the specified timeframe. Candidates will be expected to manage arterial lines and provide continuous IV sedation.
