Description:
General diagnoses include ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-operative complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT.
Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
No travel pairs are allowed, regardless of assignment on another unit.
Traveler should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient.
Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2-3.
There are 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19 patients.
Patient population includes adults to geriatrics.
Unit systems include Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR.
Scrub color is navy blue.
Floating within the facility and scope of practice is required.
If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it.
If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both.
If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
Full compliance is required to start on time.
If not compliant in time, a two-week pushback will occur due to bi-weekly orientation schedules.
Candidates will be reviewed clinically to determine fit.
Only local candidates will be accepted at the same rate.
All time off requests must be finalized at the time of submission.
No time off requests can be made during orientation week.
Maximum RTO allowed is 7 days per contract.
If 1-2 holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday time off requests can be made.
If 3 holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered.
Compliance documents are due prior to the start date.
Modules are non-billable and completed during orientation, recorded via transcripts.
Traveler should be experienced and prepared for a potential 3 patient ratio.
Additional unit procedures include care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, and stroke management.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
