Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Critical thinking Self-motivated Description: The ICU unit consists of 16 beds. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with occasional 3:1. The unit is staffed with Medical Technologists, and a tech may be available based on patient census. The unit utilizes advanced equipment such as Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring. Documentation is carried out using the Meditech system. Nurses are required to work 36 hours weekly and may need to float in rotation with core staffing. Candidates must possess certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH. Advanced skills needed include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions. The dress code consists of scrubs in any color, with no denim, capris, or camouflage. The unit emphasizes teamwork and flexibility in scheduling. Staff need to exhibit critical thinking skills and a self-motivated attitude. The unit recognizes excellence with awards such as the Daisy Award for outstanding contributions to patient care.
