Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Critical thinking skills Self-motivation Description: The ICU is a 16-bed unit with a patient ratio of 2:1, and at times 3:1. Staffing includes medical technicians, and a tech may be available depending on census. The unit is equipped with Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Arctic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring. Documentation is conducted using the Meditech system. Scheduling requires 36 hours weekly, with a floating policy in rotation with core staffing. Procedures performed include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions. The unit promotes a flexible scheduling environment and teamwork. Staff experience ranges from diverse backgrounds, and both day and night shifts are represented. Additional initiatives include creating blankets for hospice patients and recognition through awards such as the Daisy Award.
