Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 21 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Three years of critical care experience preferred. Strong candidates with less experience may be considered. Previous travel experience preferred. License: Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission; no exceptions. Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only) ACLS (American Heart Association only) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: Proficient in Epic. Strong neuro critical care experience. Willingness to float to stepdown unit, emergency department, or medical-surgical units. Description: Client is located in the beautiful Coastal Virginia region. Chesapeake is an outdoor lover's paradise, offering hiking trails for all experience levels and more than 20 waterways to explore. ICU RN AUTO OFFER! Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays within the contract. Patient Ratios are typically 1:2 or 1:3. Minimum requirements include three years of critical care experience, proficiency in Epic, and active RN license. Candidates must be willing to float to stepdown units and must have experience in ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia recognition and management. Emergency response and critical care management skills are required. Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, and heart failure. Skills required include strong neuro experience, management of ventilated patients, and administration of emergency medications. Module completion is required pre-start. The EKG testing is mandatory for ICU positions. Candidates must have a passing score of 80% or higher to continue with orientation or their contract. Test content includes rhythm interpretation and measurements covering various cardiac rhythms.
