Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Active RN license ACLS certification BLS certification ICU experience Description: The position is for a registered nurse in the ICU with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 2:1, and occasionally 1:1 or 3:1, depending on acuity and staffing. Unit secretaries are staffed during the day shift, with occasional nurse externs working as technicians. The unit utilizes various types of equipment, including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000. Documentation is completed through a Meditech system. The scheduling requires a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule. Schedules are created in 4-week increments with self-scheduling options to some extent. Management may adjust shifts to balance the schedule as needed. Contract labor is the first to float if staffing needs arise in other units. Healthcare professionals are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to both patients and family members. Certification requirements include ACLS and BLS. The dress code consists of navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms. The unit has specific guidelines and policies that will be provided to candidates. Additional information includes new equipment and technology on the unit, as well as the experience level of the staff.
