Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 2-3 - Experience with charting systems, preferred experience with Epic - Familiarity with lower acuity ICU settings Description: Please ensure that you are aware of the following conditions for this assignment. Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, unit management may assign you to an emergency team. There will be an expectation to remain at the facility until after the event passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details regarding pay will be communicated for each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract, you accept these terms and will report as directed by your immediate unit manager during an emergency event. Only apply for this role if you are comfortable with these conditions. The ICU patients at this facility are lower acuity than in larger facilities. Typical patient diagnoses include sepsis, metabolic encephalopathies, DKA, COPD, and heart failure. The ICU unit consists of 6 beds; usual census is 2-4 patients. Some patients in the unit may be considered MedSurg, telemetry, or stepdown. Additional clinical skills required include managing ports, care of ventilated patients, and central line management. You should be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases, managing dysrhythmias, and administering emergency medications. Knowledge of infection prevention and protocols for TPN and lipids is essential. Modules will be completed during the onboarding process. These modules will be recorded as part of orientation hours.
