Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Online EKG tele competency assessment must be passed before starting the assignment - Vents, NIH, IV Start, ICP, Conscious Sedation skills required - Associate's degree in nursing or BSN required - EPIC experience required Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:2 for Critical Care and 1:3 for Intermediate level patients on the unit. Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Floating will be required at the discretion of the management. Assigning to a medically appropriate assignment or supporting the nursing care team is expected. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is necessary. Census fluctuations may result in cancellation of up to 2 shifts within the contract length. Travelers will not be eligible for employee incentives. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialty services. The patient age groups will include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census and patient diagnoses will vary across conditions such as diabetes and respiratory illnesses. Special procedures include cardiac surgeries and management of ventilated patients. Staffing will adhere to specific patient ratios both during the day and night shifts. No requests for time off will be accepted after the initial application submission. A solid ETA for any required lab work completion must be provided. An EKG/Dysrhythmia exam is required for all units except those specifically excluded. The facility does not accept any past license actions. Module hours will be self-reported to management and completed during orientation.
