Job Title: ICU/MS/ED FLOAT POOL RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: State or compact license in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required. NIH and TNCC preferred Must-Have: - Experience floating between units: ICU, ED, MS - Comfort with varied patient ratios depending on unit needs - Ability to perform procedures such as para/thoracentesis, intubation, and central line placement - Experience managing ventilated patients and interpreting dysrhythmias Description: This position requires a registered nurse to float between various critical care areas as needed. Candidates must be comfortable floating to all specialties: ICU, ED, and MS. The schedule will depend entirely on unit needs. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The nurse will be part of a rapid response team consisting of members from each department. The role includes responsibilities such as care for ventilated patients, management of central lines, and interpretation of vital signs. Flu vaccinations are mandatory during the flu season. Candidates must submit all necessary certifications and licensing upon application. Strong team collaboration and communication skills are essential for success in this role. The position offers varied daily census and requires adaptation to frequently changing environments. Applicants must have traveled previously as a nurse and are expected to handle acute and chronic patient needs efficiently.
