Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Lawton, Oklahoma. This role involves providing high-acuity critical care to a diverse patient population with complex cardiovascular conditions.
The CVICU operates with a supportive 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio, allowing for focused and comprehensive patient care. You will be integral to a team managing critically ill patients, utilizing advanced monitoring and life support equipment in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct, specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU.
Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs.
Manage and operate advanced cardiac support equipment, including Impella, Edward Life Science CCO, Tablo, and Autocat II.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and intervene appropriately.
Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and recovery expectations.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
