Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,056 per week in Americus, GA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: 2 years of experience in specialty Description: Unit enforces a strict 75-mile radius rule. Traveler's driver's license must be submitted with paperwork. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty is required. Unit has 10 beds with defined nurse-patient ratios of 1 to 2. Common certifications required are BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Nurses are responsible for monitoring and reading their own telemetry. The monitor brand used is Phillips. Draeger ventilators are utilized. A hospitalist is in-house to cover the entire facility. An IV team is available Monday through Friday for difficult venous access. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for patient care. Pharmacy services are in-house during the day and can provide assistance until midnight. Nurses are not required to float outside of the unit but may float to the ER if qualified. Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and sepsis. The unit typically operates with a low patient volume, usually less than 5 patients. There is no catheterization lab for interventional procedures on-site. Occasionally, surgical pediatric patients may be admitted. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff. Nurses will wear hunter green pants with white tops or jackets. Charting is conducted using the MEDITECH system. A BSN is not a requirement for this position.
