Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7am-7:30pm) Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience; preferred experience in hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor management, ventilator knowledge, CRRT. License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, passing dysrhythmia test Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and speak English; strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to function in a fast-paced environment; excellent time management skills; strong critical thinking skills. Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed and knowledgeable, upholding the practice of nursing as outlined by the respective professional nurse practice act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards set forth by the relevant nursing association. The role includes performing the nursing process which involves assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Care is individualized and coordinated through effective partnerships. Relationship-based patient-centered care is provided that is consistent with population-specific characteristics. The RN always partners with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose. They practice using current clinical practice standards. The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. This includes diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods and timely documentation. Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration is essential, promoting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. They participate in performance improvement activities that include all stakeholders. Professional development is encouraged, including completing all initial and ongoing competency assessments and required education. The RN serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and students. Promoting evidence-based practice and nursing research is a key responsibility. They uphold all healthcare policies, procedures, and clinical competencies as per this job description. The RN participates in data collection and consults appropriate experts to address practice questions. Proactive planning for the care of patients across the continuum is required. Participation in the development of protocols and procedures is encouraged. Support for efficient and effective use of human and material resources is essential. The RN performs other duties as assigned while complying with all organizational policies and standards.
