Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) assignment in Lawton, Oklahoma. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, including post-surgical recovery, cardiac emergencies, and advanced heart failure.
The CVICU environment demands exceptional clinical judgment and the ability to manage a diverse patient population requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and specialized cardiac interventions. Nurses in this unit maintain a patient ratio of 1:2, ensuring focused and high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for efficacy and adverse reactions.
Manage and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient outcomes.
Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergent situations, initiating life-saving interventions as required.
Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
