Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at an acute care facility located in Moses Lake, Washington. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients, functioning as both a direct caregiver and a proactive care manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the full nursing process, from assessment and planning to intervention and evaluation, for a diverse patient population within the ICU. This includes directing and overseeing the work of other caregivers through effective delegation, coordination, supervision, and validation of patient care outcomes.

This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment, ensuring optimal patient care and outcomes in collaboration with physicians and other clinicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Administer direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to manage a diverse patient population.
  • Educate patients and significant others on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Accurately document patient care, observations, and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR) or paper charts.
  • Delegate patient care activities to and supervise assigned nursing and non-nursing staff.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and effective priority setting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including infection control, equipment safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through continuous learning and professional affiliations.
  • May serve as a Charge Nurse, coordinating patient assignments, facilitating admissions/discharges/transfers, and providing unit leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of acute care Registered Nurse (RN) experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in a specialty nursing department, preferably Intensive
