Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Pending DC license accepted, but must have the DC license in hand prior to the start date. Proof of pending status must be provided at the time of submission. Description: This position is in a Transplant ICU. The shift requires working three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The position requires the nurse to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity. Charge experience is preferred. The nurse will manage patients with multi-system organ failure, IV insulin protocols, chronic/acute renal failure, and post-neurosurgery management. The nurse will provide care for patients who have undergone organ transplants, sepsis, and overflow from neurosurgery. Candidates should have experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and administering IV therapy. The daily census in the unit is approximately 14 patients with a patient ratio of 2:1 both during the day and night shifts. The candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams for patient care. Special equipment and specific procedures pertinent to the ICU environment will be utilized. The position requires strict adherence to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions. Candidates should possess skills in IV insertion, ventilator management, and care for ventilated patients. No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment. The candidate must complete all required screenings and assessments in a timely manner.
