Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: New York License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy Ability to place IVs Description: Please expect a call upon offer within 24 to 48 hours. Registered Nurses must have competency in phlebotomy and IV placement as these are required skills for all nurses. Staffing ratios are 1:2 for all shifts. Floating to medical-surgical unit is required. Weekend coverage required every other weekend. Candidates must be more than 75 miles from the facility. Pending license is not accepted. Time off requests should be limited to 1 week. Patient diagnoses include sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Special equipment used in the unit includes ventilators, balloon pumps, EPOC, and level I rapid infusers. Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, and blood product administration. Responsibilities also include care of ventilated patients, arterial line management, and continuous IV sedation. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
